Wonky Flower
Welcome to my new series I’m calling Wonky Flowers. Watching those watercolors flow across the page creates a zen moment for me. I hope you enjoy the flowers and I hope you all are finding some zen moments. These paintings are all 9 x 13 and are matted to fit a 16 x 20 frame. This new style for me has been inspired by a Canadian artist that I follow. I love her work! Thank you so much, Deb Weiers!! ♥️✨
So, as always, I believe life is all about the story. So, along with sharing my Wonky Flowers with you, I will tell you that I now possess a new talent! So, over the last two weeks, we have enjoyed lots of long walks around our little desert town. What’s my new talent, you ask? I frighten dogs. Yup. Two instances in two weeks may be a small sample set, but, I think you’ll agree I’ve developed a rare talent indeed. So, the first occurrence had my hubby and me taking a little break sitting on a block wall along the walking path. We were tucked behind some oleanders and didn’t hear this beautiful little pit bull or owner coming. They got to the end of the oleanders and we saw each other at the same time. I screamed (a little scream, more like a startled whimper) and attempted to get my legs atop the brick wall. Don’t go too far down the path of visualizing the scene – it wasn’t pretty, I’m sure. The poor dog made a pathetic little whimpering sound and jumped off the sidewalk into the street. The owner had the dog on a leash and all was well within a few seconds. The owner indicated to us that he’d never seen this dog do anything like this. Sigh. The second occurrence was yesterday and we were walking on a narrow sidewalk with the hubby closest to the street and me hugging a 6 ft fence. Of a sudden, a dog that must have weighed 200 lbs, on the other side of said fence projected the loudest bark I’ve ever heard. I jumped into the air, screamed bloody murder and Don says I tried to tear his arm out of the socket. The dog stopped barking – he just stopped! There you have it. Those of you who know me know that I’m a bit jumpy – ha. Both dogs appear to have survived so all is well.
My very best warm thoughts to each of you. ✨🎨
