Literal

So, I’m still having fun with this new weird and whimsical style of painting. This particular painting was inspired by a recent change in my way of looking at things and my continuing attempt at trying to be graceful moving forward. My head is full and some days it seems very angular but always colorful. It’s all about the journey and the journey is all about the stories. Here’s to all the strong people I know who are willing to hold each other up and to work at a better understanding of the world and especially to those who possess a willingness to accept people the way they find them. And, here’s to being cheerful even when you’re a bit down. And, here’s to laughter, the all time best medicine, no matter what. That reminds me of a granddaughter story. So, our amazing and gorgeous and talented middle granddaughter has always been literal. She’s all grown up now and this story is about a weekend visit to our house when she was about 5. So, we arrive at G’ma and G’pa’s house and this beauty comes up to me and informs me that I have yellow teeth. I reminded her that she had enlightened me to that fact the last visit. She wandered off and shortly returned to inform me that Grandpa has a brown tooth. At this point I’m wondering if maybe she just had her first dentist visit. I told her that G’pa was working with his dentist and they were going to fix his brown tooth. We talked a bit about dentists. I then asked if maybe I could help her unpack. We walked to the back bedroom and started taking things out of her backpack. She looked at me with what felt like disdain and she pronounced, “Grandpa has a brown tooth. You have yellow teeth. I’m not putting my tooth brush by yours.” And, there you have it! We love our Breezy! ♥️
