Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn’t permanent. Jean Kerr
As she moves into spring, Miss Hazel is taking a break to enjoy this bright bouquet filled with hope. She can even feel the love emanating from these colorful flowers.
Hazel has witnessed the changing of many seasons, but never one approaching the chaos of the last few. Everything is changing, and the uncertainty is scary. But, for a few minutes, Hazel has decided to just feel the love around her, to breathe deeply, and to move forward.
Although Hazel doesn’t understand much of what is happening in her world, she has concluded that we must carry on, finding our joy and taking our comfort from the shared experiences of our flock. Hazel sees value in clinging to her flock as they all rally and rail and even squawk when it seems appropriate. Some days, Hazel flies high, and some days she hides in the bushes.
Hazel is so frustrated because everything she has ever known to be her true north is shifting. Major institutions and landmarks appear to be altered in a most unorderly way. Familiar people are gone, and the people who have replaced them do not seem to belong there. The winds are blowing in directions Hazel has never witnessed. Birds are just disappearing, and the natural order appears to be challenged.
Like millions of others, Hazel knows that something is very wrong. She will continue to work with her flock to move forward. She will continue to find joy in the positive things around her as she holds hope that, as the times are changing, the chaos will be temporary.
