Joy and hope and pride 

Hazel has decided to call in reinforcements in her quest to get out the vote. Astrid and Eleanor answered the call and are very busy contacting people in the days remaining before the election.

Astrid and Eleanor are inspired by Hazel’s joy about this election and the opportunity to ensure the continuance of our democracy. However, they are concerned about the amount of foreign influence, misinformation, and disinformation which is so prevalent during this election cycle. They hope people are learning how to recognize the subterfuge.

Hazel has talked with Astrid and Eleanor about why she is so excited to vote for the next person to lead our country into the future, a person who possesses the following qualities:

1. Inspires us all to be our best selves
2. Loves America and has sworn to uphold the Constitution
3. Strongly believes in law and order
4. Is immensely qualified for this job by virtue of having served in all three branches of our government
5. Works across the aisle and has inspired Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to enthusiastically support the campaign
6. Grew up as part of the middle class and understands those struggles
7. Believes strongly that small businesses are the backbone of our enterprise
8. Understands that Congress has failed to enact meaningful immigration reform legislation for over 40 years and is committed to working on this with Congress
9. Defends our 2nd Amendment rights and believes gun reform legislation such as red flag laws, background checks, etc. is necessary
10. Strongly believes that we love whom we love and that it is no one else’s business.
11. Believes that the government should have nothing to say about women’s health care decisions

Hazel believes that most people in America have good intentions but are driven by fear which can often come from false information and propaganda. This fear often influences their vote. Astrid reminds us there is no “them;” there is just “us.” Eleanor chimed in to also remind everyone that when they go into the ballot box, how they vote is just between them and their conscience.
